Deceptive Food Companies- A Dying Breed

Large Food companies and pet food companies have been very deceptive. The European giant like Nestle is notorious for deceptive claims and not declaring all the ingredients on the label and hiding the profits and not pay taxes on profits for almost 100 years. It is soon catching up. The recent incidence of Maggi noodles in India is a solid proof these irresponsible and negligent activities by Nestle

The Indian Food Authorities found high levels of lead and high levels of mono-sodium glutamate in Maggi noodles. The Swiss company Nestle thought that they could get away with this . But it is unlikely to go away at-least in the near future. How many Indians would have been affected by such negligent activity of the Swiss company no body knows. The arrogance of these large conglomerates is that they think all the developing countries do not have resources to find out what is their product and that they can sell anything and get away with it. The population is big and even if the margins are low we can make a lot of money in these poor countries that is the attitude of Nestle. The Swiss banks have been shielding criminals, money launderers, drug dealers, corrupt politicians with their bank secrecy laws.

The millennial generation can see through this deception. The growing momentum in goods and services offered by local farmers markets, organic farming, supporting local businesses is evidence that the younger generation are getting away from large conglomerate who are deceptive, untrustworthy and destroy local jobs. This means only one thing . The large conglomerates like Nestle will be a dying breed

Pet Food related morbidity in the United States

Carnivorous Pets like dogs and cats need healthy foods. The US pet industry dominated by a few large players cannot provide healthy foods for dogs and cats. Most pets have a poor quality of living even though they live long. The increase life span at home is predominantly due to availability of healthcare for pets. Commercial pet food related illnesses have multiplied over the past 75 years. Why?

Most well known Commercial pet foods are made of grains which are also cheap fillers and are a by product of food industry, secondly big players add so many chemicals and preservatives that are never declared on the label( this is basically cheating),, large commercial pet food manufacturers use vitamins and minerals which are almost 99% made in China, . When you have well known commercial pet foods that contain so many chemicals which are not declared on the label, pet suffer their entire life. They become obese, suffer from arthritis, various forms of cancer, diabetes, etc.

The best food for pets is fresh real meat that can be easily cooked at home or can be fed as such. The vitamins and mineral needs can be easily accomplished with vitamin pills available in many pet stores.

At the end of the day, cats and dogs may live long in the US but the quality of life is just unbearable even compared to street dogs and cats in many developing countries

Do not feed popular commercial pet foods (CPF) from large companies. Why?

a. CPF have many undeclared ingredients that may be harmful to the pets unfortunately FDA is ok with it because of the enormous clout the pet food companies have over FDA and USDA

c. CPF contain grains and starches such as corn, rice, wheat, potato in the top five ingredient list. Dogs are predominantly carnivores and grains and starches are not good for them

d. long term consumption of popular commercial pet foods result in severe health issues- wait gain, obesity, arthritis, and all forms of diseases that are never an issue in the Wild.

e. Almost of all of vitamins, and majority of undeclared chemicals used in pet foods come from China
